Online Booking Tool: This is what first drew me to Lightspeed. The ease of booking online, specifically with a widget that follows you around a website. This keeps booking always on the customer's mind and is super easy to use. Having to make an account can be cumbersome for some people; however, once your account is made, you're able to book at tons of courses with ease.
Lightspeed Support: 24/7 chat feature is a life saver. At almost any point throughout the day you can get feedback and support on any issue or question you have, It's very easy to get through the initial AI triage and you can skip it at any point to speak with a real human instantly.
Modernization: This is the least clunky tee sheet software I've worked with. It looks like a real website in the 2020's.
Continually evolving, the tee sheet is adding features you never knew you needed but come to love. Lightspeed Website: The Lightspeed Help Center and just the website in general are fantastic.
The Help Center has dozens of articles that can give you instructions to solve almost any issue you come across. Along with the Help Center, Lightspeed has writers from the industry that blog about topics and trends relatable to everyone. I frequently find myself coming across Lightspeed blogs that are interesting and informative. An invaluable benefit that I didn't even know existed until having used the service for a good chunk of one season.
Lightspeed Payments: We have switched to Lightspeed Payments this season as our payments processor and I am very pleased with the service so far. The ease of use with the terminals is next level.
The reporting comes straight into Lightspeed (this actually helped me get rid of a Moneris integration) so I can find all my payments data in real time. The only downside is everything is internet based, so if you have spotty internet (which we find out here in the country sometimes), payment processing can get frustrating. There are ways around this however with offline processing, standalone mode, etc.
The reporting on the Retail end is almost too advanced for smaller courses. We are a ~$2M golf course, annually, and I find there are so many reporting tools that it makes it a little difficult to narrow down the ones you use. Remember, Lightspeed acquired Chronogolf as a Retail company, so the reporting and financials are very intricate. Integrations are not seamless, specifically with LoyalAction, their primary loyalty integration (Credit Books, Prize Accounts, etc.). Because these integrations are often different companies, the integration takes the form of being a new webpage, and all of a sudden you end up with several webpages open. These webpages work together in some way/shape/form, but it takes some time to understand how they work together. I can add money to someone's account and never have it show up in my Lightspeed reports (which feels like a flaw). Also going from Golf --> Retail involves two tabs, why is this not just one seamless transition?
Lightspeed (Chronogolf) is not complicated. I like that.
They don't anwser the phone and they dont build new stuff to keep up with how golfers are changing
